FIRST COUNTY WAR ENLISTMENT AND FIRST DEATH WERE FROM GLASGOW.

Glasgow claims to have the first man from Jefferson County to enlist in the present war and also the first to die. Earl LITTON, who enlisted in the British army in 1914, was heard from about six weeks ago, and was at that time on a British ship near Australia.

Earl Humphrey, son of James Humphrey, passed away at Deming, New Mexico, in January following an attack of pneumonia.
