L. D. DeGOOD Taken In Death

Lovel D. DeGOOD, 81, 701 S. Fourth, died early this morning at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health the past several years and seriously ill the past three days.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home where last rites are pending.

DeGOOD, a lifetime resident of Jefferson County, was born June 20, 1889, the son of Brant B. and Olive JONES DeGOOD.

He was married to Gladys F. FOSTER, on June 1, 1918. He was a retired employe (sic. employee) of Louden Machinery Company, a World War I veteran, a member of the Modern Woodman of America. He had resided in Fairfield the past 30 years.

DeGOOD is survived by his widow and eight children: Harold B DeGOOD of Kansas City, Mo., Harlan D. DeGOOD of San Diego, Calif., Dorothy I. CROUCH of Mercer Island, Wash., Donna J. SCARFF of Des Moines, Hal F. DeGOOD of Peoria, Ill., Hoyt E. DeGOOD of Bathe, Me., Deanna E. CASSABAUM of Marion and Hollis L. DeGOOD of Fairfield. He is also survived by one sister and one brother, Mrs. P.J. SNIDER and Orlo DeGOOD of Batavia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
