DEATH OF ALICE PARK.

Died June 13th, 1888, at the home of her parents near Salina, Alice J. PARK, in the 35th year of her age. With the faith of a child and implicit trust in her Savior, Alice passed away. Through all the long months of suffering, which were her portion, not a murmur fell from her lips. "Thy will be done," was ever her earnest prayer. We think her consistent christian life, her perfect trust, and fearlessness to meet death, speak with greater power than the most eloquent sermon. Converted at an early age, she was ever sustained by that strong arm, and although her path was not through green pastures, she was ever cheerful, never allowing disappointment and sorrow to poison life's fountain. The stricken and crushed hearts in the home ache today with that great hurt that has come to them, and we all ask, " why death placed his chill hand on that young life and stopped the beatings of that warm heart so full of sympathy for others ?"

"Fold smooth the shroud on her sweet young form,
And carry her away since it must be;
At least she lieth sheltered from life's storm;
So we will leave her there, and fervently
Will pray that light may rise beyond life's gloom."
