DEATH OF J. M. STEWART.

James M. STEWART, died at his home in Lockridge township on the 7th inst., after a painful illness of seven months. Mr. STEWART was in the 69th year of his age. He came to Iowa in 1852, and has been a resident of the county most of the time since. He was a hard-working and industrious man, one who will be greatly missed in the community in which he lived so long. A wife and two grown children, a son and a daughter, survive this excellent man. Mr. STEWART has four sisters residing in Burlington, all of whom were with him in his final illness. Funeral services were held at the family home on the 10th inst., conducted by Rev. S. T. Horton. A great many friends followed the remains to the place of burial east of Salina....

Note: Buried in Berry Cemetery. His wife was Mary PFOUTZ who died in 1903.
