Page 3, Column 8Elizabeth PARKS (sic - PARK) was born in Huntingdon County, Penn., May 1, 1803, and died at Glasgow, Iowa, March 30, 1886, aged 82 years, 10 months and 30 days. Elizabeth BROWN was married to Reuben WEAVER October 29, 1829. She came to Iowa in 1850, and in 1852 was married to Daniel PARKS (sic - PARK), who died some 14 years since. Mother PARKS in early life commenced the service of the master and the closing years of her life were made pleasant by the presence of Christ with her. When her strength failed she would take her family bible (sic) and, placing it on a shelf near her, peruse its sacred pages with a relish that was the indication of the preciousness of its truth to her. The last eight years of her life were spent at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Silas DURKE, at Glasgow, who kindly ministered to the wants of a loving mother. Her last illness was short, and in the evening of life she quietly and peacefully entered into rest. She was buried March 31st, the funeral being conducted by Rev. H. C. Millice -- text, Psalms 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
