ALEX. JULIAN DIES; FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY
Fairfield Resident Summoned Yesterday; Rites At Hoskins'

Alexander JULIAN, 83, well known resident of Fairfield, died yesterday afternoon at hos (sic) home, 504 North Court street here, after having been in poor health for the past eight months.

Mr. JULIAN, a native of Ohio, was a member of the First Methodist church, the Masonic Order, and the Order of Eastern Star, and leaves many friends here to mourn his loss. He moved to Iowa in 1902.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. JULIAN preceded him in death October 7, 1934, and he had been bedfast since her death. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nellie SYMONDS of Geneva, Ill., Arthur E. JULIAN and William H. JULIAN of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Ethel CUMMINGS and Mrs. Bertha ROSS of Fairfield. One sister Jemima BASON; and a brother, Albert JULIAN, both of Salem, Oregon, also survive him.

He has three grandchildren, Howard ROSS, Orman JULIAN of Chicago, and Richard SYMONDS of Geneva.

Mr. JULIAN married Mrs. Alice JOHNSTON, February 20, 1879. He was born in Ohio, March 2, 1852, and moved to Henry county, Illinois, when he was five years of age. He lived in Illinois until 1902, when he moved to Iowa.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss.

To All Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Alex JULIAN, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Monday, May 6, A. D. 1935, at 9:30 o'clock A. M., has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 11th day of April, 1935.

JULIAN Estate To Be Divided Into Five Equal Shares

The estate of the late Alex JULIAN is to be divided into five equal shares, according to the will, filed for probate in the office of J. N. Calhoun, clerk of the Jefferson county district court.

The five shares are to go to children of Mr. JULIAN, as follows: Mrs. Ethel G. CUMMINGS, Mrs. Bertha M. ROSS, Mrs Nellie A. SYMONDS, W. H. JULIAN and Arthur E. JULIAN. By the terms of the will, $1,000 will be deducted from the share of one of the men and given to Mrs. CUMMINGS.
