ALEX. JULIAN DIES; FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY

Fairfield Resident Summoned Yesterday; Rites At Hoskins'

Alexander JULIAN, 83, well known resident of Fairfield, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 504 North Court street here, after having been in poor health for the past eight months.

Mr. JULIAN, a native of Ohio, was a member of the First Methodist church, the Masonic Order, and the Order of Eastern Star, and leaves many friends here to mourn his loss. He moved to Iowa in 1902.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. JULIAN preceded him in death October 7, 1934 and he had been bedfast since her death. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nellie SYMONDS of Geneva, Ill., Arthur E. JULIAN and William H. JULIAN of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Ethel CUMMINGS and Mrs. Bertha ROSS of Fairfield. One sister Jemima BASON; and a brother, Albert JULIAN, both of Salem, Oregon, also survive him.

He has three grandchildren, Howard ROSS, Orman JULIAN of Chicago, and Richard SYMONDS of Geneva.

Mr. JULIAN married Mrs. Alice JOHNSTON February 20, 1879. He was born in Ohio, March 2, 1852, and moved to Henry county, Illinois, when he was five years of age. He lived in Illinois until 1902, when he moved to Iowa.
