Mrs. Alice CARTER, 84, longtime resident of Fairfield, died Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at the Nelson Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Ned Gillum officiating. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.
Mrs. CARTER was born June 30, 1886, in Fairfield, the daughter of John and Martha KNIGHTON CUMMINGS. She was married to Harley CARTER Jan. 1, 1921. Her husband, who served as mayor of Fairfield, died Dec. 12, 1951.
Mrs. CARTER was Past Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters of the State of Iowa. She was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eugene HAGBERG, Springfield, Ill.; two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In The Matter Of The Estate Of Alice B. CARTER, Deceased.
To All Persons Interested In The Estate Of Alice B. CARTER Deceased:
You are hereby notified that on the 10th day of March, 1971, the undersigned was appointed administrator of said estate. Notice is hereby given that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall filed them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance, and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claims shall thereafter be forever barred.
