"A SUDDEN DEATH. Samuel McWhirter, a resident of Jefferson County for 38 years and a man well known in his section of the county, was found dead in a field near his home about 1 o'clock on Friday last. He had appeared in his usual health that day, and had eaten his dinner and gone about his work as usual. His prolonged absence prompted one of his daughters to go in search of him, and she found him dead. Death was probably caused by heart disease, of which Mr. McWhirter experienced a light attack about a year ago. Deceased was born in the North of Ireland and was 66 years of age. He leaves a wife and six children - four sons and two daughters - all grown. He also has a brother, John McWhirter, living in this city. . . . .A short time before his death he boasted that he had never been ill a day or once employed a physician. The remains were interred in the Pattison cemetery, in Cedar township, Monday. . . . . "
