DEATH OF A PIONEER WOMAN.

Mrs. Jacob LIBLIN, one of the earliest French settlers of Jefferson County, died at the home of her son, George LIBLIN, east of this city yesterday. Mrs. LIBLIN was born in Belfort, France, and was in the eighty-sixth year of her age. She came to the United States in 1846, and, after a residence of nine years in St. Louis, removed to this county, where her home has since been. Four children survive her, George and James LIBLIN and Mrs. Peter HISEL (sic - Christena LIBLIN HEISEL, wife of August Peter HEISEL) of this county, and Alexander LIBLIN, whose home is in Colorado. In the neighborhood southeast of this city, where the greater part of her life had been spent, Mrs. LIBLIN had many friends who loved and esteemed her and will join the family in mourning her death. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church, this city tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, and the body will be buried in the Pattison cemetery in Cedar township.

I am copying this information for the benefit of genealogical research and am not related to said individuals.

Note: The DOB is estimated as 1814 based on the obituary and headstone inscription that gives her age as 85 years old when she died on June 20,
1899.
