"MRS. JOHN B. DROZ DEAD. . . . .Many friends in the city were shocked to learn of the accidental death of Mrs. John Batty Droz, one of the first French settlers in this county, which occurred yesterday afternoon at her home about ten miles southeast of Fairfield, when she stepped into an open cellar-way and plunged headlong to her death. . . . .Mrs. Droz was about 72 years of age. . . . .Three grown children survive. They are Joseph Droz, Alex. Droz, and Mrs. Mary Hosette, all of whom reside in the neighborhood of the home place. Mrs. Droz was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of this city and was well known here. The funeral will probably be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. H. J. Hogan."
