Eugene J. W. HOAGE

Eugene J. W. HOAGE, 80, of 501 S. 15th St., died at 2:11 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2002, at the Nelson Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.

Mr. HOAGE was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Jefferson County, the son of Henry William Russell and Hazel Alice Martha WILLIAMS HOAGE. He married Helen Mae FIELDS, Aug. 20, 1943. She died Oct. 4, 2001.

He lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He was employed on the assembly line at the Dexter Company for 39 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was an outdoorsman and pasttimes included raising hogs, calves, pidgeons, gardening and hunting.

He was a member of the American Legion in Fairfield.

Survivors include five daughters, Violet Lafern MALLINGER of Fairfield, Viola La Mae FUGARINO of Batavia, E. Maxine MANLEY of Birmingham, Valeta Lafon CLINE of Fairfield and Victoria Louise CLINE of Fairfield; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers; Jerard Benard HOAGE of Fairfield, Cameron Lindberg HOAG (sic. HOAGE) of Fairfield and Terrell R. HOAGE of Huntsville, Texas; and one sister Hiawana T. EMRY of Carlisle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen Mae HOAGE; one brother Henry W. HOAGE Jr.; and one sister, Iwanda Rayfield RITZ.
