Contributor note: Buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Public Grounds Row 6 Space 5. The headstone has only "Virginia" used for her first given name, but owing to the full name used in her obituary this entry is made as "Phyllis Virginia Maxine WILLIAMS". It should be noted that three WILLIAMS related headstones in place in the public grounds/rows at Evergreen cemetery are identical in design, evidently installed as a tribute to their memory. The name "Virginia" may have been the only name known to whomever installed the headstone.-------
Note: A Evergreen cemetery plat listing had listed the DOB as March 7, 1920. A check of the death record in the Jefferson county Recorder's office found that the age at death was 1 year and 6 days, which gives a DOB estimate of Sept. 1, 1920.
