Opal Louisa was the third daughter of the eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. George WILLIAMS. She was born at Brighton, Iowa on the second of November, 1904 and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital on February the third 1931. At the time of her death she was 26 years 3 months and 1 day old. All of her life, excepting seven years spent in Moline, Ill., was spent in Fairfield.
On November 19 of 1927 she was married to Thomas DOROTHY, living happily in this union till her death. One child, Alton Thomas, now just over a year old was born to them and survives his mother.
To mourn their loss she leaves her sorrowing husband Thomas DOROTHY, her son Alton Thomas, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George WILLIAMS, two sisters, Mrs. Alice HOGUE (sic - HOAGE) and Aletha, three brothers Paul, Kenneth, and Edwin all of Fairfield. Her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles DARNELL and Mrs. Julia MORGAN survive and these with her many other relatives and numerous friends will mourn her passing.
She has been ill for some time and was bedfast the last four weeks. She suffered much but bore it all patiently. She passed quietly away at 6 oclock on last Tuesday evening.
She made her confession of faith in Christ at the church in the West End and was a worker in the Mission for some time. In her failing health she found much comfort in her Christian faith which sustained her to the end. Loathe to leave her husband and child she answered her Masters call and awaits her loved ones in a better land. She was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery with her two sisters, Mrs. May HOOTMAN and Virginia, and one brother Alton.
Admin note: Husband Thomas Harold DOROTHY was married three times, with Opal being his second wife. He died in 1967 in New Mexico and was buried there.
