Pg. 8 Col. 1G. W. WILLIAMS DIES AT HOME
George W. WILLIAMS, 74, long time resident of the Fairfield community, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, at his home west of Fairfield. He had been in failing health the past two years.
Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Hoskins funeral home with Envoy Mrs. BLANCHARD of the Salvation Army in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
"Bill" WILLIAMS, as most of his friends knew him, was born November 19, 1872, at Trenton, Iowa, the only son of the late Lee Andrew and Julia RUNYAN WILLIAMS.
He was married January 1, 1899, to Maggie May DARNELL who survives.
Besides his wife, the following children survive: Mrs. Alice HOAGE, Mrs. Bernard WILSON, Paul, Kenneth and Edwin, all of Fairfield. Twenty-two grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Six children preceded their father in death.
