Alphonse PEQUIGNOT Ill For Seven Weeks; Funeral At 10 O'clock Tomorrow
Alphonse PEQUIGNOT passed away yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at his home, 500 East Adams street after an illness which dated back to December 14th.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow mornign at 10:00 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church in charge of Rev. Father E. F. Gaule. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. PEQUIGNOT was born March 30, 1851 (sic. headstone engraved birth year is 1852), in St. Louis and was one of the early pioneers, coming to Jefferson county in 1853, when he located on a farm in Cedar township where he made his home until 1914 when he retired and moved to his present home on Adams street.
He was married to Julia (sic. Julie) NADY May 18, 1875. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year, with their children, grandchildren and friends. Ten children were born, one son passing away in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Hovart HANNA of Colorado Springs, dying in 1908.
Those surviving are his widow and the following children: Mrs. M. L. BROWNLEE of Los Angeles, Louis A. Edward and Ned of Cedar Township, Miss Leona F., of Los Angeles, Mrs. Kenneth J. REISTE of Sutherland, Ia., Donald L., of Spokane, Wash., and Miss Lucille of Chicago, all of whom were with their father in his last illness.
