DEATH TAKE MRS. McINTIRE

Mrs. Clifford McINTIRE, 33, passed away at 12:45 a.m. today in a Davenport hospital where she had been a patient for the past three weeks during a serious illness. Her home is at 303 North Sixth Street.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in charge of Rev. G. J. Dingman, pastor of the Free Methodist church.

Azlee Clara DOUGLAS McINTIRE was born September 21, 1912, at Newport, Arkansas. He (sic. her) mother, Mrs. Lula JOHNSON, resides in Muscatine. Her father passed away several years ago. Mr. McINTIRE had been a resident of Fairfield for the past three years.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by three brothers Charles and Robert DOUGLAS, both of Muscatine, and Dennis DOUGLAS, McClelland, Arkansas.

Note: The physical burial of Azlee is confirmed at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa in 2nd.142 with husband Clifford Nathaniel McINTIRE. An entry has been found listing a plot at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield for "Azalee Clara McINTIRE" in Devotion B 61, Space 5. However, that area is devoid of any evidence of a burial; certainly no headstone is in place. Perhaps that plot was purchased for her burial but plans changed and she was physically buried at Evergreen Cemetery. The grounds manager for Evergreen inspected their cemetery records on April 12, 2011 and confirms that her burial took place at Evergreen Cemetery.
