Wayne I. McINTIRE

Wayne I. McINTIRE, 79, 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 2:10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1995, at Nelson Nursing Home.

The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Free Methodist Church, with the Rev. Norman Channel officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Family visitation will be at the church following the service. Memorials may be made to Free Methodist Church or to beneficiary of donor's choice.

McINTIRE was born Feb. 13, 1916, in Fairfield, the son of Benjamin and Millie WARD McINTIRE. A lifelong resident of the Fairfield community, he graduated from Fairfield High School in 1933. On April 29, 1934 he married Madge HARPER at the Free Methodist parsonage in Fairfield.

He was employed at Morrell's as a meat inspector for 32 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Canberra in World War II. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, and in the Iowa National Guard for 20 years.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Jack of Greensboro, N.C., Jerry of Northwood, Bruce of Davenport, Alan of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Marcia CALDWELL of Brodhead, Wis., Judy RANDOLPH of Burke, Va., Patricia GOEHRING of New Glarus, Wis.; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters in infancy; and seven brothers, Fred, Emery, Arthur, John, Harold, Glen and Robert.
