WM. CHANDLER DIED YESTERDAY
At His Home In Packwood fter Long Illness; Funeral Tomorrow

William Henry CHANDLER, 74 years old, passed away yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at his home in Packwood after being bedfast for over 5 years. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from the Methodist church in Packwood in charge of the pastor Rev. Eugene McClure. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.

Mr. CHANDLER was born in Jefferson county in 1854. He was married to Miss Isabel FRYER, who survives him, also a brother, C. D. CHANDLER of Packwood. Mr. and Mrs. CHANDLER lived in Kansas for 20 years and nine years ago came back to Packwood where they have since resided.

... --O. F. FRYER returned yesterday to his home at Red Oak after being called here to attend the funeral of his sister's husband, William Henry CHANDLER at Packwood.

--Mrs. Cora ACKERMAN of Marengo, who was called here by the death of William Henry CHANDLER, spent yesterday afternoon visiting Mrs. C. C. BELL, 205 West Hempstead street.

--Mr. and Mrs. C. C. BELL were at Packwood yesterday morning to attend the funeral of Mrs. BELL's uncle, William Henry CHANDLER. ...

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of W. Henry CHANDLER, deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Thursday, December 6th, A. D., 1928 at 2 oclock p. m., has been set for proof and final hearing of same.

Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 10th day of Nov. 1928.

OBITUARY

WILLIAM H. CHANDLER

William Henry CHANDLER, son of Ward and Sarah Jane CHANDLER, was born in Jefferson county, Iowa on April 20, 1854, and passed away at his home in Packwood on Wednesday Nov. 7, 1928. He was married on Dec. 31, 1890 to Miss Isabelle FRYER who still survives. No children were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. CHANDLER lived in this county till 1899 when they moved to western Kansas. Mr. CHANDLER was a farmer and stock raiser until 1919 when they returned to Iowa leaving a host of friends at their western home. They purchased a home in Packwood where they have since resided. Five years ago last July Mr. CHANDLER suffered a stroke of paralysis and has been confined to his bed since that time. His faithful companion has been with him constantly and has done all that loving hands could do to alleviate his sufferings. He has been a most patient sufferer, never complaining of his lot. He leaves of his immediate family, his wife and one brother, C. D. CHANDLER, also of Packwood and a number of other relatives. Although not a member of any church, he was always interested and aided all its activities in a financial way. He lived an honest, upright life, was of a jovial disposition and was trusted and respected by all. During his last illness he expressed himselr (sic) as willing and ready to go.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at 10 a.m. Friday morning and interment took place in the Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Eugene McClure of the local church. Pall bearers were Messrs. Axel Johnson, R. H. Myers, Ned G. Oliver, Frank Stanfield, J. W. Cowguill and B. T. Lutes.

Relatives froma distance attending the funeral were O. F. FRYER, brother of Mrs. CHANDLER, of Red Oak, Iowa, Messrs, Frank JAQUES and M. L. FRYER of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. JAQUES and son of Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. BELL, Mrs. Cora JOHNSON, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. JAQUES and daughter Jennie, Mrs. Willa CHANDLER and son Gregg of Fairfield, Mrs. A. T. AKERMAN of Meringo, Mr. and Mrs. Charles JAQUES of Newton and Mr. Marve JAQUES of Trenton, Mo.
