OBITUARY

SARAH JANE CHANDLER (sic)

Sarah Isabelle FRYER, daughter of Elias and Sarah Jane FRYER was born May 24, 1854 near Birmingham.

When about 2 years of age she moved to Jefferson county, and when 8 years old moved to the FRYER farm 10 miles northwest of Fairfield where she grew to womanhood.

After the death of her father in 1874 she remained at home with her widowed mother and family, until December 21, 1890 when she was married to W. H. CHANDLER. They lived on the CHANDLER farm which joined her parental home until 1900. Then they moved to a ranch near Goodland, Kansas, where they resided for 19 years.

Returning then to Packwood, Ia., where they made their home until Mr. CHANDLER passed away in Nov. 1928.

She continued to make her home in Packwood until 1935 when she sold her home and came to Fairfield to live with her nieces, Mrs. Cora JOHNSON and Mrs. Mable BELL.

She was reared and remained from childhood, a Methodist.. Her everyday life which was filled with acts of kindness and thoughtfulness of others proved to her many friends the Christian character which she possessed.

She is survived by two brothers, W. E. FRYER of Long Beach, Calif. and O. F. FRYER of Packwood, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Dr. M. A. Gable was in charge, assisted by S. P. Williamson.
