Leland J. MEDINA dies in Florida

Word has been received here of the death of Leland James MEDINA, 88, who died Sunday at a nursing home in Hollywood, Fla. His widow is the former Amy WILLIAMSON, former resident of Fairfield.

The casket is being shipped to the Raymond Funeral Home where services are pending.

Leland James MEDINA was born Nov. 29, 1895, on the high seas out of New York. He was the son of Frank and Katherine McGEE (sic - (McGEE) MEDINA).

His marriage to Amy WILLIAMSON took place Feb. 28, 1948. They made their home in Hollywood, Fla., where he was an executive of the Hollywood Bread Co., for a number of years before his retirement.

Rites Friday for Lee MEDINA

Graveside services for Lee MEDINA, 88, who died Monday in Hollywood, Fla., will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Visitaiton will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home.

MEDINA was a member of First Christian Church in Hollywood, Fla. A memorial has been established to that church.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Lot 4th.119. Minor discrepancy concerning his death date: one obituary states he died on the 19th, the other on the 20th. The Social Security Death Index only gives the month and year of death. The Florida Death Index 1877-1998 on Ancestry gives his death date as the 20th.
