Clinton N. WILLIAMS, 71, of Richland died of cancer Sunday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Richland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wilbur Morfitt officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery (note: Keokuk County).
Family visitation will be from 2:30-4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. A memorial has been established to the family and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
Mr. WILLIAMS was born July 26, 1931, near Birmingham, the son of James L. and Sylvia I. MATHIAS WILLIAMS. He married Kay CLOYD. They were divorced. He married Sheryl HOGAN May 5, 1979, in Richland.
He attended Crum country school and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1949. He worked at Morrell Meal (sic - Meat) Packing Company in Ottumwa for 23 years. He also worked as a custodian for Pekin Community Schools for 18 years and drove a school bus for 23 years.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of American Legion Post 504 in Richland.
Mr. WILLIAMS also was a member of Richland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Connie CROWE and Julie WILLIAMS, both of Hedrick, and Tara HUFF of Ollie; two sons, Randy WILLIAMS of Moravia and Clint WILLIAMS of Richland; stepchildren, Tanya YODER of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Matt MILLIGAN of Richland; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four brothers, Donald WILLIAMS of Shirley, Ark., Kenneth WILLIAMS and Jerry WILLIAMS, both of Ottumwa, and Carl WILLIAMS of Marion; two sisters, Ruth Ann WILLIAMS of Melborne, Fla., and Sandra LUNKLEY of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Clifford WILLIAMS.
