Ruby Beatrice RUGGLES, 94, Fairfield, died at 2:45 a.m. today, Sept. 8, 1989, at Nelson Nursing Home.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Layne officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. Friends may call starting Saturday evening. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials have been established to Linby Baptist Church and Packwood Senior Citizen Center.
Mrs. RUGGLES was born Nov. 29, 1894, in Blaine, Ky., the daughter of John and Virginia PETERS HALE. She was the stepdaughter of B.E. CLARK. She married G. Orville RUGGLES March 9, 1913, in LInby. He died Nov. 6, 1953. A homemaker, Mrs. RUGGLES had worked as a nurses aide at Jefferson County Hospital for several years and at Coenders Flower Shop. She was a member of Linby Baptist Church and a charter member of the Linby Zephyr Club.
Surviving are a son, Cedric of Fairfield; two daughters, Edrith GRIMES of Packwood, Eloise BAUMGARTNER of Ollie; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and a half-sister, Magdalen DICKINSON of Ottumwa. Two brothers, Samuel and Walker, preceded her in death.
