PACKWOOD -- Ira E. DAVIS, 90, former Packwood resident and a former member of the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in the Packwood Cemetery.
Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials may be made at the donor's choice.
Ira E. DAVIS was born Aug. 10, 1894, in Wapello County. He was the son of Omer C. and Samantha ARGENBRIGHT DAVIS. He was reared and educated in the Compentine (sic - Competine) community.
His marriage to Mae. M. PETERS took place Nov. 22, 1916, at Ottumwa. She preceded him in death June 15, 1984.
DAVIS was a member of the Christian Church and a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge; he was a member of the OES, White Shrine and served six years as a member of the board of supervisors.
He also served 40 years as a director of the Farmers Savings Bank of Packwood, and he was a retired Conoco Oil jobber in Packwood.
Survivors include a daughter, Fayelda PETERSON, Fairfield; two granddaughters; two sisters, Mamie GANTZ, Ottumwa, and Ruth JONES, Bladensburg; a brother, Leslie, Council Bluffs.
