Marvin J. McQUOID

Marvin J. McQUOID, 83, of Keosauqua, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

No service is planned at this time.

Mr. McQUOID was born Nov. 6, 1927, at his parents' rural Milton home, the son of Monte and Elsie MILLER McQUOID. He married Betty Jean GILCHRIST Dec. 24, 1955, in Centerville.

Before marrying, Mr. McQUOID traveled, working wheat harvests and construction projects, clearing trees for road beds and right-of-way projects in North Dakota, South Dakota and Alaska. He later farmed and owned and operated a window washing service, tree removal service, cemetery stone reconstruction business and home improvement business.

Mr. McQUOID served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; four children: Tim and wife Tammy of Billings, Mont., Curtis and wife Mary of Las Vegas, Nev., Greg of Basrah, Iraq, and Gina ROBINSON and husband Roger of Huxley; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters: Betty DIETZMAN of Burlington and Marilynn GILLMAN of Alexandria, Va.; and one brother: David of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Beverly WILLIAMS.
