Paul B. McKEEVER

Paul B. McKEEVER, 90, of Batavia died at 4:03 p.m. March 11, 2011 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

He was born on August 27, 1920 in Wapello County, Iowa to Bert and Edna MENDENHALL McKEEVER. He married Juanita ALLEN on February 4, 1946. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2007.

A graduate of Hedrick High School, he served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii where he met his wife, serving four years as a machinist mate, 1st Class.

He and his wife owned and operated P & W Sales and Service in Ottumwa.

He was a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 of the American Legion. He and his wife belonged to Indian Hills Good Sams where they camped at J5 Campground in Texas during the winters.

He enjoyed collecting all kinds of things and enjoyed playing pool.

Surviving are 2 sons, Allan (Connie) McKEEVER of Floris and Dennis (Vickie) McKEEVER of Batavia; a daughter, Mary Beth (Mike) SAMPLE of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren, Paula CARTER, Shelly McKEEVER-WHITE; T.J. MALLONEE, John McKEEVER, Marie ROE, Ashleigh BRESCH and Travis SAMPLE; nine great grandchildren and a sister, Betty WEBSTER of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Roy and Robert McKEEVER and a sister, Jenny MOORE.

His body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home (sic - in Ottumwa) with Pastor Danny Cary officating. Military services will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 of the American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion Honor Guard.
