Marilyn T. BOSOLD, 87, of Fairfield, died Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Marilyn T. BOSOLD

Marilyn T. BOSOLD, 87, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Gabriel and All Angels Liberal Catholic Church. The body will be cremated.

Mrs. BOSOLD was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Des Moines, the daughter of Robert Miles METCALF and Dorothy L. BREIGEL. She was adopted by her stepfather Allen TOWNE. She married Donald Dolan BOSOLD in 1945. They divorced in 1955.

Mrs. BOSOLD graduated from St. Joseph's Academy for Girls in St. Paul, Minn. She attended the University of Minnesota in the early 1940s. She raised her three sons into their early teen years. She lived in California for several years, working at the Rosicrucian World Headquarters and later at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center until her retirement in 1989. She had resided in Fairfield since 2004. Mrs. BOSOLD was a caregiver all her life, for her sons and for a number of friends in the San Jose area.

She loved animals, especially cats.

Survivors include three sons, Barry of Minneapolis, Minn., Michael of Port Townsend, Wash., and Patrick and wife Ann of Fairfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mildred WILDE.
