Carl T. DAVIDSON, 85, of Fairfield, died this morning, Friday, March 11, 2011, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Carl Thomas 'Bud' DAVIDSON Jr.

Carl Thomas "Bud" DAVIDSON Jr., 85, of Fairfield, died at 8 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary and the Rev. Nate Nims officiating. Interment, with military rites, will be in Batavia Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Online condolences may be sent at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Mr. DAVIDSON was born March 25, 1925, in Monmouth, Ill., the son of Carl Thomas and Mary Louise MUNSON DAVIDSON. He married Bertie Lou KING DLOUHY May 5, 1990, in Fairfield.

Mr. DAVIDSON grew up in the Batavia community and attended Bumblebee School. He had lived in Batavia and Ottumwa and in Fairfield for the past 21 years. He worked for Lowenberg Bakery before beginning his career as a car salesman. He worked for Vaughn and Martz Motors in Ottumwa and Danielson Motor Company, Kreiger's of Fairfield and Fesler Auto Mall before his retirement.

Mr. DAVIDSON served in Guam and the Pacific Theater during World War II and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. DAVIDSON was a member of First United Methodist Church and Eagles Club.

He enjoyed tractors, cars, dancing and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Joyce Marie DAVIDSON CAREY and husband Cecil Leroy, Delores SPEES and husband Edward of Birmingham, Pat DAVIS and husband Dennis of Batavia and Penny EKLUND and husband Mark of Birmingham; two sons, Robert E. DLOUHY of Fairfield and Richard DLOUHY and wife Kristi of Pinehurst, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Jim DAVIDSON; one sister, Mary Lou SHIRKEY; and one stepson, Gary DLOUHY.
