DEATH OF MR. GEORGE WILSON.

Register of Public Lands here for a number of years prior to 1851. He died on the third of March (Lexington, Mo. "Intelligencer" of March 4). Born at Steubenville, O., 20 Jan. 1809. 1 July 1825 appointed to the military academy at West Point. Grad. July 1 1830, 2nd Lieut. in Capt. Smith's Co. in the first infantry, of which Zachary Taylor was the Colonel. He was afterwards transferred to another company, of which Jefferson Davis was first Lieutenant. Served through the Black Hawk War.... His old Colonel, Taylor, becoming President in 1848, Capt. WILSON was appointed Register of Public Lands at this place and was a great favorite with the settlers. Since 1851 he has lived in Lexington, Mo.....
