Carl R. 'Dick' RADTKE

Carl R. "Dick" RADTKE, 91, died Thursday, March 3, 2011.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, N.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Light and Liberty Jail Ministries, P.O. Box 25932, Albuquerque, NM 87125.

Mr. RADTKE was born June 3, 1919, in Wever. He married Ruth Ann PECK. She died, and he later married Dawna CONRAD JOHNSON.

Mr. RADTKE served with the 34th Infantry Division "Red-Bulls" in World War II. Upon his return to Iowa after the war, he married and worked as the Van Buren County Assessor. He pursued endeavors in the printing industry that lead the family to Albuquerque, N.M., and started his own printing business.

Mr. RADTKE worshipped regularly with the Methodist men's church group "Bubbas."

He enjoyed playing cards, playing dominos with friends, traveling and going camping in his recreational vehicle. He also enjoyed sports, especially football and basketball.

Survivors include one daughter, Carla POGEMILLER and husband Jerry; one son, Rick RADTKE and wife Paula; two stepdaughters, Judy NAIL and husband Bill and Cindy BRIGHAM and husband Ronn; five grandchildren; and one sister, Grace LYTLE of Washington, Iowa.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gurden RADTKE, and one son-in-law, Jerry POGEMILLER.
