Barbara M. SHERIDAN

Barbara M. SHERIDAN, 66, of Fairfield, formerly of Fort Madison, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at home.

A private family graveside service will be held Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.

Visitation began at 3 p.m. today at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point, with the family present from 5-6:30 p.m.

Mrs. SHERIDAN was born Oct. 13, 1944, in Fort Madison, the daughter of Nilas and Virginia LAMB LONG. She married Michael SHERIDAN Oct. 26, 1961, in Fort Madison. He died July 24, 1998.

Mrs. SHERIDAN enjoyed swimming, boating, playing games on her computer and spending time with her special friend George. She also enjoyed the beach and her cats.

Survivors include her special friend, George WAYNE of Fairfield; two daughters, Kim SANDERSON of Fort Madison and Nadine "Dee Dee" SIMS and husband John of Wake Forest, N.C.; for grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
