Thomas M. HOWELL, 85, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Park Place in Mount Pleasant.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to Fairfield First United Methodist Church or Glasgow Cemetery. Cards and memorials may be sent to 3169 Wheat Blvd., Lockridge 52635.
Mr. HOWELL was born July 20, 1925, at home in Jefferson County, the son of Parvin and Helen THOMSON HOWELL. He married Rachel RIEPE June 1, 1947, at home in Mount Pleasant.
Mr. HOWELL graduated from Fairfield High School in 1943. He farmed the family farm in Round Prairie Township since 1936.
Mr. HOWELL was affiliated with First United Methodist Church. He was a 50-year member of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 4 and was a member of the Howard Johnson Coffee Club. He was the secretary for Glasgow Cemetery.
Mr. HOWELL enjoyed turkey and deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife and four siblings: Margaret NEWELL of Pleasant Hill, George HOWELL of Louisville, Ky., Fern CRAFTON of Fairfield and Evelyn ZUMDOME of Fort Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Vernie METZ.
