Died After Short Illness.

Mas. (sic) Elijah EDWARDS, one of the oldest and highest esteemed citizens of this city, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. WARD this afternoon at one o'clock, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the residence. Rev. Osborn will conduct the last services.

To all whom it may concern:

Notice is hereby given that an instrument purporting to be the last will and testament of Sarah EDWARDS, deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Monday, March 4th, A. D. 1907, at 1:30 o'clock p.m., it being the 13th day of the February term, 1907, of said court, has been set for the proof and final hearing of the same. Witness my hand and seal of said court this 18th day of February, 1907.

Death of an Aged Woman.

Sarah LYNN, widow of Elijah EDWARDS, died in this city Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. WARD. Mrs. EDWARDS was born in Bedford county, Penn., November (sic - October) 11th, 1823, and grew to womanhood there. She came to Jefferson county with her parents in the 40's and was married here October 30th, 1853. With the exception of a few years in Wayne county, Mr. and Mrs. EDWARDS had made their home here during all those years. The husband died in this city December 22d, 1900, and the widow had since lived with Mrs. WARD, a grandchild. In her active days Mrs. EDWARDS had many friends throughout Jefferson county and those of them who are left will mourn her death. She was an excellent, christian woman, devoted to family and friends. Funeral services were held at the WARD home Saturday, conducted by Rev. Thos. Osborn.

Mrs. Sarah EDWARDS, whose death was announced in last week's REPUBLICAN, was the widow of the late Elijah EDWARDS. Their home for most of their married life was in Salina. He was a tailor and they ran a boarding house in connection with the shop. They also lived for a few years in Pleasant Plain and one or two years in Allerton before moving to this city. She was a good woman. She leaves two brothers, Robert and Noah LYNN, and a large circle of friends and relatives.
