ABINGDON, Aug. 29.

Mr. William CURRAY died at his home Friday morning, after a few hours' illness. Mr. CURRAY was born in Northumberland County, England, in 1826. He emigrated to America in 1840, and came to reside in Iowa in 1853, when he married Lucinda HENDERSON. To this union were born three sons and three daughters, all of whom reside in this county, and attended their father's funeral.

DEATH OF A GOOD MAN.

The body of William CURRAY, a well known farmer of Locust Grove Township, was buried in Walnut Hill cemetery the 28th ult. Mr. CURRAY was a native of Durham, England, and was born November 2d, 1826. He came to America as a lad of 14, made his home in Canada for several years, and came to this country in 1856 (sic - by 1853). He was married here to Lucinda HENDERSON, who survives him. Six of their children are now living in this county -- J.J., Joseph, Thomas, and Miss Mary CURRAY, Mrs. Frank WHITMORE and Mrs. Joseph HUPP. Mr. CURRAY was a man of excellent character, an energetic, industrious and progressive farmer, and was held in high esteem by the neighbors and friends who had known him during his half century of life in this county.
