Hilda "Jean" ZUERCHER, 90, of Wayland, formerly of Dunlap, Ill., died Thursday morning, March 3, 2011, at Parkview Home in Wayland.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap, Ill., with the Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Garden in Peoria, Ill.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the family present 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Memorials to Hospice of Washington County or Prospect United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 1535 315th St., Brighton 52540.
Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
Mrs. ZUERCHER was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Dunlap, Ill., the daughter of Harrison and Blanche POPLETT DIMON. She married Herman ZUERCHER Dec. 10, 1955, in Dunlap. He died Dec. 26, 2001.
Mrs. ZUERCHER grew up in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School. She was employed by Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Peoria for more than 50 years.
Mrs. ZUERCHER was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap, where she often served as a greeter and usher and helped clean the church until her health declined in 2003.
Survivors include one sister, Alice SCHEELER of Washington.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
