"Mrs. Mercy A. (Whitacre) Vinton died this morning at the home of her son E. W. Vinton on N. 4th St. Bur. Brighton. Born in Lycoming Co., Pa. Nov 15 1837. In Oct. 1847 she removed to Logan Co., Ohio and from there to Iowa in 1852, settling near Brighton. . . . .Two children, a daughter who died in infancy and a son Edward W. Vinton. . . . ."
