"Levi M. Tracey died yesterday at Pleasant Plain. A pioneer resident of Jefferson County. Survived by aged wife and two children, Clarke Tracy of Brighton and Miss Daisy Tracy who is at home. A daughter, Mrs. (S. A.) McGuire of Merrimac, preceded her father in death about two years ago. Interment will take place in the cemetery near the Friends church. Pleasant Plain. . . . ."

"Levi Marion Tracy, son of Levi and Mariah, born Belmont Co., Ohio, Sept. 27, 1840, died Mar. 21, 1913 aged 72-5-24. With his parents he came to Washington County, Iowa, where he has since resided. In 1862 married Mary Neice. Three children, Adella McGuire, deceased Oct. 17, 1911; Daisy M. Tracy of Pleasant Plain, and Clark W. Tracy of Brighton. Out of a family of 15 children, only three sisters and one brother are living: Catherine Porterfield of Gage Co., Neb.; Mrs. Sarah Gentle of Adams Co., Iowa; Mrs. Nancy J. Moses of Muscatine and Jacob Tracy of Brighton. Member of Christian Church. Leaves wife and two children, 6 grandchildren. Services at the home in Pleasant Plain; interment in Friends Cemetery."
