"Obit. Mariah Neice, dau. of Jonah and Mariah, born Apr. 24, 1839 Mifflin County, Pa., near Harrisburg. In 1839 with parents came to Burlington, Iowa, and later into the vicinity of Germanville; married 13 Mar 1862. . . . ."

"Mary Ellen Niece, widow of Levi Tracy, died at her home in Pleasant Plain Wednesday. Born in Penn. Apr 24 1839. Age 74-4-6. Married Levi Tracy in 1862 and they came to Washington County in 1881. Three children, two survive: Daisy M. Tracy of Pleasant Plain and Clark Tracy of Brighton. Husband died 21st last March. Bur. Friends Cemetery."
