Death came yesterday to a long-time resident of Fairfield and Jefferson county.
She is Mrs. Lucy A. WERNER, 77, who passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 1:40 p.m. Monday after a serious illness of about a week. She was taken to the hospital Sunday from her home at 500 West Washington street.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
Lucy A. WERNER was born April 30, 1873, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late James and Mary HEDGE. She was united in marriage to Joe WERNER who preceded his wife in death on August 18, 1916.
Mrs. WERNER spent her entire life in Fairfield and Jefferson county and was well known by several local residents.
She is survived by two brothers, Boyd HEDGE who resides at Denver, Colorado, and William HEDGE whose home is at Hastings, Nebraska. Mrs. WERNER is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
