Local relatives today received word of the death of Mrs. T. B. SHORT, well-known former Fairfield resident who died this morning in Lynwood, Calif. Mrs. SHORT, who moved with her husband to the West Coast six years ago, had been ill only a week. She was 71.
The former Carrie STEVER, Mrs. SHORT was born in Jefferson county March 31, 1880, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. STEVER. She was married to T. B. SHORT in Fairfield February 25, 1920.
She is survived by her husband, a former Jefferson county rural mail carrier, one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth WILLEY, Compton, Calif., and two grandsons.
Other survivors include the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Nellie LARSON, Fairfield; Mrs. Anna NEWLAND, Batavia; Frank STEVER, Packwood; Edward STEVER, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Alvin BEALE, Lockridge; Mrs. Ray RODIBAUGH, Keosauqua; Etta STEVER, Fairfield; Mrs. Norval BARR, South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Victor LEECH, Fairfield; O. A. STEVER, Newton; Mrs. Tom TEAL, Keosauqua, and Mrs. Leon DeKALB, Davenport.
Mrs. SHORT was a member of Lynwood Methodist church and a former member of the Fairfield Methodist church. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Note: Carrie STEVER SHORT is not buried in Jefferson County. SPECULATION ONLY – she is possibly buried in the old Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles. Locally, the STEVERs and AVERILLs were connected, and there are known AVERILL family members in old Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles.
