Page 1Lt. Cmdr. SCORZA Killed In Crash
Lieut. Cmdr. Ed SCORZA, husband of the former Jacqueline RUNDQUIST of Fairfield, was killed late yesterday afternoon in a navy crash, according to word received here today.
Mrs. SCORZA’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl RUNDQUIST, are currently visiting in the SCORZA home at Somers Point, N. J. Word of the accident was received this morning by Mrs. Taylor Langner in a telephone call from Mrs. RUNDQUIST.
Mrs. Langner was unable to learn details of the crash which occurred somewhere in the New York-New Jersey area about 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. SCORZA was flying alone on a routine mission. His body had not been recovered after an all-night search, Mrs. RUNDQUIST said.
Mr. and Mrs. RUNDQUIST attended the annual Sousa band convention held last Saturday and Sunday in New York City. Cmdr. and Mrs. SCORZA met them there and returned with them to their new home at Somers Point which they have occupied for only a week.
In addition to his wife, Cmdr. SCORZA is survived by two children, Kate and Ned.
