HEART ATTACK PROVES FATAL

Mrs. Kate G. RIDER, 70, prominent Fairfield resident, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been seriously ill for the past six months and suffered a heart attack last Monday. She was taken to the hospital where she passed away.

Last rites will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. H. Scheerer in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. RIDER was born March 22, 1877, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie ROSS DAVIES. She had spent her entire life in Jefferson county and had been a resident of Fairfield since 1932.

She was united in marriage to Harry RIDER, who preceded his wife in death on June 6, 1932.

Mrs. RIDER moved to Fairfield from the farm southeast of the city the same year. Her home is located at 310 West Broadway.

She was a member of the Methodist church and took an active part in church activities at Parsonsville and the Bethesda church while she lived in that community.

Mrs. RIDER is survived by three children; Thomas D., Dunlap, Iowa; Robert R. and Ruth RIDER, both of Fairfield. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. W. B. PICKEN and Mrs. J. A. HANNA, both of Fairfield.
