Death came last night to Joe L. RICHARDSON, long-time resident of Fairfield and local factory employe (sic) for 36 years. He passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 11 p.m. after an illness of several weeks.
Last rites will be Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Officials at the Iowa Malleable Iron company, where RICHARSON was employed for many years, announced this morning the plant will be closed for the funeral Monday morning and will resume operations at 1 p.m. the same day.
Joe L. RICHARDSON, 51, was born Jan. 20, 1901, at Mayfield, Ky., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. RICHARDSON. He was united in marriage on Jan. 18, 1942, to Mary SIPE who survives. The wedding took place in Kahoka, Mo.
RICHARDSON moved to Fairfield 40 years ago and had made his home in this community since. He was a molder at the Malleable for 36 years, was a member of the K. P. lodge, and the Eagles lodge (sic – called an Aerie).
Besides his wife he is survived by two stepchildren: Barbara SIPE, at home, and Mrs. Harvey WISSLER, Colo, Ia. He is also survived by three step grandchildren and three brothers, Adrian, Fairfield; C. C. RICHARDSON, Asusa, Calif., and W. W. RICHARDSON, Oakland, Calif.
