Mrs. RAINS, 85, Taken In Death

Mrs. Clarrah C. RAINS, 85, long-time resident of Fairfield, died Friday in Burlington.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. Roland Crandall. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. RAINS was born Oct. 31, 1878 on a farm east of Fairfield, the daughter of Eli K. and Elizabeth FISHER CAVINESS. She was married to William Edwin RAINS Dec. 25, 1895,

Mr. and Mrs. RAINS operated a grocery store in Fairfield for many years. Mr. RAINS died April 1, 1960 after 64 years of marriage.

Mrs. RAINS is survived by four children: Glenn RAINS, Hawthorne, Calif.; Mrs. Gladys R. PHILLIPS, Burlington; Mrs. John N. CALHOUN, Burlington; and Donald RAINS, Medford, Ore. Ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. RAINS was a life-long member of the First Methodist church, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Business and Professional Women’s club and the Golden Wedding club. Five brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
