DEATH CLAIMS MRS. McCLAIN

Mrs. Frank McCLAIN, prominent Fairfield woman, passed away at 8:45 p.m. last night at the Ottumwa hospital where she had entered as a patient the day before after a brief illness. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Last rites will be Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the First Methodist church with the Rev. S. P. Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

The body will remain at the Weston Behner funeral home until it is taken to the church at 2 p.m. the day of the services.

Mrs. Frank McCLAIN, 67, was born June 16, 1885, near Minier, Ill., the daughter of the late Frank I. and Sadie MILLER OGDEN. She was united in marriage Oct. 10, 1910, to Frank McCLAIN who survives. The wedding took place in Jefferson county.

The McCLAINs have been residents of this community for many years. The family home is located at 506 N. Court street and Mr. McCLAIN operates the Fairfield Beverage Manufacturing company.

Mrs. McCLAIN was a member of the Methodist church and took an active part in its activities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Eastern Star club, Navy Mothers’ club and a charter member of the Thursday club.

She is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter, Carl T. McCLAIN, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Julia SAUNDERS, Decatur, Ill. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two sisters, Ferne D. RICKER and Edna OSBORN, both of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Mrs. McCLAIN was preceded in death by a son, Lt. George O. McCLAIN, a U. S. marine flier who was lost at sea in the South Pacific on June 11, 1943, during World War II. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
