Thursday, May 13, 1948DEATH TAKES MRS. MAASDAM
Mrs. William K. MAASDAM, prominent resident of Fairfield for 43 years, passed away at 5:45 p.m. yesterday at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been a patinet (sic) since last Friday. She was 58 years of age at the time of her death.
Last rites will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Monger funeral home.
Nellie Blanche MAASDAM was born September 12, 1889, at Minier, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frank and Sadie OGDEN. She was reared and educated in Minier, before moving to Fairfield in 1905.
She was united in marriage on March 25, 1915, at Fairfield to William K. MAASDAM, who survives. Mrs. MAASDAM was past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Shrine, a member of the Tri T, White Shrine, Woman’s club and the Presbyterian church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by twin daughters, Mrs. Dayne STOUT, Maryville, Missouri; and Mrs. Joe SLATKOSKI, Colfax, Iowa. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Frank McCLAIN, Fairfield; Mrs. Myron OSBORN, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Mrs. Fern RICKER, Chicago. Two brothers Loren and Logan OGDEN, preceded her in death.
