JAQUES Rites To Be Monday

William E. JAQUES, long-time resident of the Fairfield community, passed away at 1 p.m. Friday in the Jefferson county hospital. He suffered a stroke 10 days ago and had been a patient at the hospital the past four days.

Last rites will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

William E. JAQUES, 80, was born March 4, 1878, at Abingdon, the son of the late Thomas J. and Lucinda FRYER JAQUES. He was married to Nettie Ann HUFFMAN on July 3, 1898, at Floris, Iowa. She passed away Aug. 28, 1955.

A retired farmer, Mr. JAQUES spent his entire life in Jefferson and Wapello counties, the last 41 years in the Fairfield community. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by the following children: Charles JAQUES, Fairfield; Mrs. Harold THOMA, Fairfield; Mrs. Oren T. HARRELL, Altoona, Iowa. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
