LOCAL WOMAN DIES AT HOME

Mrs. L. D. JAMES, 67, well known local woman, died at her home, 301 S. Highland, at 10:30 o’clock (sic) this morning following an illness of the past two months.

The body is a the Monger funeral home where services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock in charge of the Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

Laura Johanna JAMES was born June 29, 1882 at Ossining, New York, the daughter of Henry and Sarah KAMP. She had lived in Fairfield for the past 60 years where she was reared and educated in the local schools. She attended business college in Burlington.

She was married April 27, 1910 to Dr. L. D. JAMES. She was a past president of the American Legion auxiliary, a member of the Fairfield Woman’s club and of the Episcopal church.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Wayne HAMMANS; and two sisters, Mrs. R. B. LOUDEN of Fairfield and Mrs. P. G. RUSSELL of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Charles, who died in 1918, and one sister, Mrs. George BONFIELD.
