W. C. HOSWELL RITES TUESDAY

W. C. HOSWELL, 79, well known former Evergreen cemetery superintendent, passed away Saturday afternoon about 3:00 o’clock (sic) at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been seriously ill for several months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Weston Behner funeral home. Rev. S. P. Williamson officiating and burial in the Evergreen cemetery.

He was born Nov. 25, 1866. On October 10, 1906 he was united in marriage to Nettie M. LIPPITT, who preceded him in death April 19, 1940.

Mr. HOSWELL was superintendent of the Evergreen cemetery for over 30 years and retired from that position in 1942. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and a member of Jefferson Lodge No. 4, I.O.O.F. for over 40 years, and had taken an active part in both organizations.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jefferson Lodge No. 4 will nave (sic – have) charge of services at the cemetery.

Rebekahs will meet at 1:00 p.m. at No. 4 hall to attend the services.
