C. E. HISEL PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL

Lifetime county resident succumbs after two weeks serious illness

Clifford Earl HISEL, 53, passed away yesterday afternoon around 4:35 at the Jefferson county hospital. Mr. HISEL, a lifetime resident of this community, had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.

Funeral services will be held from the Weston Behner Funeral Home Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Evergreen cemetery.

HISEL was born May 23, 1890 near Libertyville. He was the son of the late Lewis and Marinda HISEL.

For over 35 years, HISEL worked as an interior decorator, continuing his work until September 6 of this year.

He was united in marriage to La Ree CARMAN September 13, 1937, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel HESTON HISEL in July 1927. She was the mother of three sons.

He was a member of the local Eagle’s Lodge (sic – called an Aerie).

Surviving are his wife, La Ree, one daughter, Marilyn Jeanne, and three sons: Chief Petty Officer Charles L. HISEL, USN; Petty Officer Second Class Richard Earl HISEL, USN; and Private Clifford Bruce HISEL, U. S. Marines.

He is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Louise H. POOL, of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Grace O. HEAP, Monrovia, Calif.

Burial Service For C. E. HISEL Thursday Evergreen Cemetery

Burial services for Clifford Earl HISEL, a life time resident of this community, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:oo o'clock at the Evergreen cemetery.

The funeral servce (sic) was held at the Weston Behner Funeral Home Saturday. The body has been placed in the Evergreen receiving vault since that time ,awaiting (sic) the arrival of relatives for the burial.
