LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL

Mrs. Elmer C. DAVIS, life-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital Saturday night where she had been a patient since July.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in charge of the Rev. John C. Porath, former local minister and now of Grand Junction, Ia., and the Rev. Wallace Kinzler. Burial will be in the Bethesda cemetery east of Fairfield.

Clara Ellen DAVIS was born March 10, 1882, on a farm near Four Corners in Jefferson county. She was the daughter of the late John and Barbara GRABER LARSON.

She was united in marriage to Elmer DAVIS on Dec. 10, 1902. The DAVIS home is at Beckwith where the couple has lived for many years.

Mrs. DAVIS was a member of the Bethesda Methodist church, and for many years was active in Farm Bureau women’s work until her health failed.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Mrs. Hugh S. BROWN, Libertyville; and James R. DAVIS, Wellman. She is also survived by three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Albert S. BLACKFORD, Minneapolis, and three brothers, Ralph E. LARSON, Fairfield; Glen C. LARSON, Minneapolis, and Floyd W. LARSON, St. Louis, Mo.
